Training
OHS
education and training is a key component of the
National OHS Strategy
2002-2012.
The
National Strategy recognises that Australia needs to invest in skills
development to ensure an ongoing capacity to meet current and emerging OHS and
workers’ compensation issues.
Actions to
develop and enhance OHS education and skills in the Australian workforce
include:

promoting and integrating OHS into schools, vocational, tertiary and
professional training arrangements, inspectorate arrangements

researching OHS education and skills development, and
-
encouraging development of high quality targeted OHS training resources.
